The domain name must point to the host's nameservers. You need to log into the Domain Manager and set those. The hosting site should already have them set, but look under the Domain Manager in the cPanel. If in doubt, call support.

If you are making your site using a web editor on your computer, be sure all folders/files use a mirror image of the directory when you upload to your root directory (public_html). I would use a FTP program as you can see both the local and remote directories. Then you just need to highlight all folders/files and drag/drop them into the root directory.

Hi,

Your hosting probably provides you with PHP and at least one MYSQL Database. Use FileZilla to connect (ftp) to your site (hosting should tell you your username and password for ftp) Using FileZilla you can transfer files to and from the server where your site is located.

You can use many of the free CMS (Content Management System) programs out there. An easy one is WordPress. A more complicated one is Joomla but you can do a lot with it (if you want to learn)

Dreamweaver is fine but it cost a lot. I get the felling that you don't want to invest that much.

Be careful when using offline editors like Frontpage to build you site. These programs put a lot of 'bloatware' into your pages, meaning the site loading sites slows down considerable.

Search engines such as Google penalize sites which take a long time to load, so if you ever have aspirations to eventually rank in the search engines you'll be ruining any chances of that happening right from the get go.

You could use NetObjects Fusion Essentials (freeware) to visually design your site and also to upload it to your host using FTP (file transfer protocol). Your host will provide with the right info to plug into NOF to accept the files.

Check the cPanel if they have a builder/auto-installer. If not then use Dreamweaver CS4
