When you right-click(or left click if your left handed) on your Desktop The menu that comes up lists:

View>
Sort By>
Refresh
Paste
Paste Shortcut
Undo CTRL+Z
NVIDA Control Pannel------On Vista
New>
Personalize

If you right(or left) click on an File/Application one of the choices is 'Send To'. I found the Send To file. I thought the 'New' file would be in the same location but it was not. What Is The File Location
for 'New'? I wanted to add a new type of 'New' file So whenn i right click and click new i coud create a new file type.

I know, it's a pain. You could try pressing Ctrl + N.

When you right click on your desktop it will give you the option 'new' This is an option for your to create a link to a computer program that you want to start from your desktop without going through the start menu. It can also be a link to a file that you want access to from the desktop. The other 'new' option is to create a new file on the desktop where you can store stuff etc

It sounds like you want to create a new file association or open a file with a different program so you will probably need to access vista as an administrator to get to other stuff

Clicking on "new" gives a submenu of various types of files created by the indicated program. It would be the same as starting the program and creating a "new" file. The only choice applicable to you would be "folder" which would create a new folder on the desktop. You must then name it.

If you right click on a file/application the "send to" choices are fixed and will not send to that new folder. To move to the folder either right click and "cut" and then go to the new folder and "paste" or you can just drag to the new folder.
