I'm a Java programmer and I'm quite good in it. I've also heard that C# has become a very useful and effective language these days. I haven't had worked with .Net framework though and I don't have any perspective about it in my mind. Could anybody let me know what is the trend in next years? I mean which one (Java or C#) is going to be more popular and why?
Do you think I should start learning C# as well?

Thanks

Some advantages which java has are

Cross Platform

GUI tool kits are better than C# (SWT & QT)

.net/C# is closely linked Windows platform so :( for other platforms

There are a lot of libraries

Excellent IDE's Eclipse, Netbeans

C# is so closely linked to Java, you can easily go from one language to another.

So I put my thumbs up to JAVA

If you want to learn any other programming languages then go with Python, I heard great things about this easy programing language

They do pretty much the same thing and they look essentially the same, why choose at all? Personally I just love developing in C# because there are so many libraries and forums out there. Copy, paste, done!

No doubt C# is gonna rock the CS world soon. Coz it provides the complete object oriented paradigm.
