In Photoshop, this all depends on your font. Most of the basic fonts that came with your system should have suitable symbols. (Handmade or specialty fonts are much less likely; some symbol fonts may be exclusively math symbols.) You may have to check Windows Character Map or Mac Character Palette.



Certain office suites contain equation editors, or you can also use online sites:

And Photoshop being the image editor that it is, you could just look for images of equations if you don't need anything specific:
