Do you know of any online, easy-to-use guides on learning to use PHP and MySQL for beginners?
No googling and pasting the first link you see!!

If you really want a good source on how to develop a site with PHP, then good book will help you very much because it will show you what you need to know in sequence.
Internet are for extra resources that the book do not contain.
The Internet are so convoluted with information that you wouldn't know where and how to start learning unless you have a guide.

Quite frankly (for me at least) I think it's easier to learn from books. Maybe its just because I don't have to stare at a screen for hours then. And I can read it anywhere! I've been reading php books for a few months now, I'm trying to cover every gap in what I know. :P
Go to your local library and take every book with the letters 'PHP' on it haha, it works!

My favorite reference/tutorial sites are:
www.w3schools.com
www.tizag.com
Also if you need a bit more help with specific questions:
www.phpfreaks.com has a great forum to talk on.
