Im a junior web designer and my client would like to be able to add in content without having to contact me once the site is made in order to get higher rankings and make small changes.
I create all my websites in dreamweaver so id like to know, would it be better to learn wordpress and create the whole site on that or is there an easier way?

That depends a bit on how much your client understands abut HTML and CSS. it may be a viable option for you to let them edit the source files directly, but only if they know what they are doing. If not, Wordpress is definitely a good option. I imagine that since you are building in Dreamweaver the site is hosted on a Linux platform. if that is the case integrating an install of Wordpress wouldn't be too difficult.

You don't have to redesign the entire site if you don't want. You can simply add a Wordpress blog in a subdomain or a child folder. Then, you would need to edit a template to get it looking somewhat like the client's original site and set them up an admin account. That way, they could go in and edit the blog's content and add new pages and posts without effecting the work you have already done.

I recently added a blog this way onto my site (which is hosted on Windows...not so fun). I haven't had too much trouble with it yet. You can check it out if you like... http://tapricedesigns.com

Hope that helps.

Either let him edit the source files via FTP or you have to create a blog-like page where he can add content via a submission form.

nicely, once you're starting to be a internet presence for a customer that needs to edit their own website, the standard way for them may be which you would be able to place in a CMS, a content administration device, it is what maximum professional internet designers/builders do for his or her customers. they are oftentimes obtainable in the CPanel of their internet hosting account. i don't recognize of any expert website clothier that makes use of sitebuilder to create internet pages. it fairly is oftentimes for persons that don't recognize something approximately HTML or coding.
