On the topic of "static web documents" ?

I've been assigned seminar work on the topic "Static web documents". It's not clear to me what topics should I cover. I know XML, HTML (XHTML) are static web documents. Maybe I should also cover Javascript, CSS...There is another topic 'HTML' given to another group of students therefor i'm confused as to what my work should include other than HTML.

Can someone make it explicitly clear as to what topics I should cover !?

The term "static web documents" doesn't generally refer to a specific file type... it refers to the status of the document in question. Static documents are documents that rarely if ever change their content.
