Resize 1600 x 2000 px website to fit all browsers?

Question

Hi, I made a workable website in dreamweaver (yet to be uploaded to a server) at 1600 width to 2000px height, the website was meant to be scrollable so I am not worried about the height. What I am worried though is the width. I made the website completely with ap divs as it gives me more options in layering my designs as originally intended as designed.
But now the problem is that, I cannot resize the website to fit the browser, I have tried the css px and percentages. I have thought of redoing the site with smaller images but then the next problem would be is how to make it bigger to fit all browsers. So ultimately it boils down to the same question on how to resize the website to fit all browsers.

what I'm guessing from your question, it sounds like you're using images as your base and you can't do anything about sizing those images, other than adjusting the size and width to fit accordingly. you can use javascript to scale down the image, dependent on the window size.



either way I dissuade you from making a website that large. since you're looking at <9% of the population will have a browser window that large to see it all.

I run into problems like that whenever I use percentages or absolutely positioned divs, although I'm not really sure what you are talking about. 1600 width is about twice the width of any pages I work on. I'm confused as to why you would want it that wide in the first place.
