If you want special features, you have to pay with your own money the costs per day for the features. You get to choose your own features.



Otherwise, wordpress.com is free.

You basically have three options:



1. Host your blog on Wordpress.com for free with some basic features that are fine for most users.



2. Host your blog on Wordpress.com and pay for all the extra features you want.

Get the blogging software from Wordpress.org for free and then host your blog on your own web server with all the features you want... but you'll probably have to pay in some way to have your own web server (through hosting on a "free" web host that puts their own ads on your site or through paid-for hosting or through your own server at your own house, but you'll have to pay for all the bandwidth and maintenance costs).
