I have been sent a gif company logo to add to a word document. The logo is entirely white and when I open the gif it is on a white background. Somehow I am supposed to paste the logo onto a a coloured box in the word document and the white background will disappear and the logo show ontop of the colour box. How do I do this? Does this make sense?

In Microsoft Word, insert a table first. Do this at the top menu by clicking "Table" and scrolling down to "Insert" and select "Table" again.

Table > Insert > Table

When the attribute box appears, choose...

"number of columns = 1"

"number of rows = 1"

and click "OK".

After the table is inserted, right click on the table itself and scroll down to "borders and shading" to open a new dialog box. Click the Shading tab and select your background color.

After that, click inside the box and choose "Insert > Picture" from the top menu.

Then find your gif image and select it. It will be inserted inside your colored table and your logo will appear on top of the colored background and will show your logo it if the gif has transparent attributes. If it does not, it will still appear white.

You can click on the edge of the table and drag it to make any size you want.

First, use the make a square icon at the bottom.

Second, Make a square that's big but not too big.

Third, set the Gif on top.

Fourth, Shrink the square to the size of the Gif

And finally, you're done.

You first have to load the gif into a graphic editor and change white to transparent. then do what 鄭氏 said.
