this is the second of probably many web page questions, I made a web page about three years ago and it was quite the success, I made it using Yahoo!'s "page builder" and it tured out quite nice... however i stoped paying my bills and the rest is history...

I am about to build my second web page and I hear i need to have my site made profesionally.... something due to when you use page building software, it will display differntly on different browsers, which always seems to come back to the IE vs. Firefox analogy... i dont know what either of these things are.... please inform... and furthermore, how do i see both of these things so i can witness the difference first had?

IE = Internet Explorer

Firefox = An alternative MUCH BETTER explorer.

People use different program to browse the internet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_browser if you don't know what a browser is.

As for your question about differences in looks. Firefox and IE interprets HTML code differently.

For example,

might be spaced differently in both browser.

One way to prevent difference in looks, use CSS (cascading style sheets) for layouts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSS

IE stands for Internet Explorer; it is the web browser that comes installed with Windows Operating Systems. Most people use this Web browser, but IE has some trouble displaying CSS; its not a big deal and it can be fixed with trial and error.

Firefox is the second most popular web browser that anyone can download for free. For the most part if Firefox does not have trouble with your web page then neither will any other web browser (besides IE). Firefox is simply better at displaying CSS than IE can.

If you have a Windows Operating System then you already have Internet Explorer so all you need to do is download Firefox

You can download it here

Firefox- http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

When you make your website be sure to view it with both Internet Explorer and Firefox you will notice a slight difference but that should not matter; however, if one or the other has trouble displaying your page the way you want it to look then you will have to make modifications to your HTML, CSS, or JavaScript until the error is fixed.

Some browsers are very strict on how they interpret HTML. A missing close tag can cause it not to work. You should always test HTML using multiple browsers. I have IE and Firefox on my computer. I can use either but I normally stick to Firefox. Firefox even has an extension that will allow seeing IE on a Firefox tab.

Last week someone had a Yahoo Answers question about a page that had a couple of buttons under a picture. It displayed fine in Firefox but not in IE. It turned out a couple of tags were reversed. Firefox didn't care but IE did.

Hmmm you seem pretty out of touch ... Well these are browsers, the softwares you use to go on internet.

IE: Internet Explorer

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx

Firefox: Mozilla Firefox

http://www.getfirefox.com

According to http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp IE has a total of around 55% market share and Firefox has around 35% market share. It means that those many users use these browsers. So you should better make a site look good on both.

Now, if you want to see your site in both you should get them both and install them and check you site in both of them. This shouldn't be a problem as IE comes with Windows and FireFox is free to download and use from the above link.

Ok, first of all, seriously?

IE (Internet Explorer) and Firefox are web browsers. You are most likely using one of them to view this page with. Firefox is open source, Internet Explorer comes bundled with Windows.

If you are using Window soft ware such as Windows XP or Vista then the browser you are using Is Internet Explorer, can be version IE6 or IE7. Fire Fox is another browser, I use both, You can down load Fire Fox for free from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/, you can have more than one browser on your computer at the same time. I use two different browsers to check web site that I designed.

Hope this helps

They're both browsers. You use them to browse the internet. There's also browsers such as Opera. Firefox, IMO, is a lot better than IE because you can open windows in tabs rather than have to open a whole new window and it loads faster.

IE is internet explorer (the thing you click to get on the internet) and firefox is also a internet explorer but it has different features (lots more) but it tends to read pages a little differently. you can download it at www.mozilla.com

and an example is with both IE and mozilla go to www.officelive.com then click small buisness then the FREE account, and with IE it will open and with mozilla it will not.

IE = Iexplorer c'est le navigateur Internet de windows

Firefox : gratuit, et plus performant. Pour le developpement de page Web, je te conseille de travailler sur FireFox et IExplorer.
