Both Wordpress & Blogger have pros & cons, as to many things in life...
Here are some comparisons to help you see the better choice:
Wordpress Pros:
> There are many themes & plugins available.
> Can extend Wordpress to far beyond just a blogging platform, such as ecommerce.
> Most hosts offer one click installation through Fantastico or Simple Scripts.
> Can import from Blogger, Yahoo! 360, Type·Pad, MovabIe·Type, Posterous, Vox.com, Live·JournaI or another Wordpress blog.
> Can submit your posts by email. Images can be attached.
> Can add categories and can also display each category differently on your main page.
> You own the domain name and the blog is hosted on your own account and you have full control over your content.
Blogger Pros:
> Totally free. No hosting cost - free domain name hosting.
> Easy to set up & easy to use. The dashboard is easy to navigate.
> Blogger has introduced a collection of easy-to-customize templates.
> Built-in stats is available to track traffic.
> Can submit your posts by email. You can receive new posts by email too. Images can be attached.
> Free domain name mapping.
> It’s easier to get started with Google Adsense.
Wordpress Cons:
> You need to pay for hosting and domain name.
> No template editing. Style sheet editing is only available as a paid upgrade..
> Scripts generally not allowed.
> Only paid upgrade can map a custom domain.
Blogger Cons:
> Can only import from another BlogSpot blog.
> Limited options for customizing blog.
> Doesn’t allow categories (though can use Labels).
> Google owns your content and you don’t have absolute control over your own blog. Though Blogger allows you to publish to your own domain, but they still own the database that holds your content.
> People know quickly that you are using free blog service unless you purchase your own domain name and point it to your Blogger blog.
To me, I would try both to really know what is best for you.
Cheers!
