I have a website that offers free images for social networks. The images are broken down into different categories. For Example: Sports, Movies, Singers etc.. My question is should use the same meta tags on all the pages of my site, or should add new meta tag keywords on pages that have specific categories such as Sports, Movies, etc...

In the context of search engine optimization, when people refer to meta tags, they are usually referring to the meta description tag and the meta keywords tag. The meta description tag and the meta keywords tag are not seen by users. Instead, these tags main purpose is providing meta document data to user agents, such as search engines. In addition to the well-known meta description and meta keywords tags, there are other useful meta tags, including the meta http-equiv tag, meta refresh tag, the meta robots tag, the meta copyright tag, and the meta author tag, etc. These tags are used to give web browsers and search engine spiders directions or data on various information.

Use different meta tags on different pages - as long as they're relevant. It doesn't matter too much as Googles algorithm doesn't rely on meta tags too much anymore

hey..

i suggest you to use different meta description tags for each page that you want to optimise according to the categories and the type of images that you are placing on that page because search engine will then index your pages accordingly. and also users can reach to your webpages through different keywords then.
