I want to build websites. Which programming languages do I need to fully create a functioning website? Could you list "all" those programming languages I need to learn in specific types of websites?

Type 1: Amazon like websites
Type 2: Social Networking websites

Now with the evolution of web2.0 era the website creation has become much more easier.



You need not learn the programming knowledge. You can use the CMS based websites like WordPress which offers the easy dashboard to manage the content.



WordPress has thousands of pre-made website design templates, you can select any design and customize it with little knowledge of css and php.

WordPress also have many ready made plugins like 'Buddy Press' for creating Social Networking website and it also have plugins to add E-commerce and auction based features like Amazon.

You *will* need HTML, CSS, and Javascript.



You'll probably need SQL unless you want a non-relational database like all the cool kids are doing.



You'll also need something to write the stupid thing in, and here the possibilities are endless. PHP. Python. Ruby. Smalltalk. Javascript, if you're brain-damaged. C++, if you're insane. Java. Erlang. Lisp. Haskell. Perl. Pick one.
