Well the first question is -> what do you want it for?

If you just want a plain personal website, and if you don't know much about web design, i would just suggest going to blogspot.com and grabbing yourself a blog. or myspace.com or bebo.com

If you do know some web design, you can make your website in Dreamweaver (most people agree its the best program for that stuff out there) or Kompozer (free and handy).

If you want neither of these options, you can always look into hiring a web designer. Most are expensive, although it changes. I am a high school student and I design simple websites for $30 - $250, for the whole thing. Contact me if you want (blond_wowness@yahoo.com.au)

Once you've got the website made, you need to put it on the internet (unless you've used blogger or myspace or something- then its already done).

You can use a subdomain, which is free. it will mean your website address will be something like www.YourWebsiteNameHere.jabu.com

If you want to get a subdomain, try ueuo.com.

If you want your website to be just www.YourWebsiteNameHere.com, it will cost. You can get it for about $10 a year on godaddy.com

Once you get your website name sorted, you need to upload your website files via FTP. If you're using XP, google something like "setting up FTP on XP" etc etc.

When setting up your FTP folder, you will be asked for a whole heap of different things. These should be shown after you sign up for a subdomain. If you use godaddy.com, just search around the website.

Last step is to copy and paste your website files into your FTP folder.

If you need help, feel free to email me =)

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

They are a Multi-awarded Web Hosting which offer a Full-featured service only $6.95. You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:

Hello

There are many software available i prefer Incomedia Website X5 even web making was never soo easy, i personally used that. If you are done with your designing then there's a little guide for the hosting process.

First you have to decide do you want to buy a web domain and purchase service from a Web Host Provider, its better to find a Web Hosting Provider in your area/city, but if you want to run a basic Website free of cost there are many free web hoster i recommend

www.110mb.com as this service provides good web space and free of any advertisements, your webpage would be like www.yourname.110mb.com, but you can also make it short and forward it by purchasing a domain in .com etc, another option you can use free domain forwarding service like www.co.cc this service is also free of cost and free of any webpage adverstisment. Your website address would be now like www.yourname.co.cc

If you want someone to make (create) a website for you, you will have to contact a website designer. I would recommend using a service like guru.com to find a good website designer. You can post details of your project, get bids on it, and select who you want to make your website.

After your website is created, you will have find a web hosting service to host it. Here is a site that reviews several web hosting services:
