You can get your domain hosted for a very reasonable price by Yahoo!

Yahoo! offers your choice of either WordPress or Movable Type blog.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website/weblog. If you are going to create your blog website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your blog online at your purchased domain name.

If you’re going to start your blog at your own domain with different pages, you need a web host providing wordpress.

Take a look at:

http://www.threehosts.com/blog

There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the blog/wordpress website hosting industry.

Another useful link:

http://www.threehosts.com/build

There you can find a step-by-step guide to start your website.

Hope this helps.

The easiest way to do it for a newbie is

1) Register your domain with yahoo or another domain registrar -> http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/

2) Sign up for web hosting with a host that has cpanel and fantastico. This will allow you to install wordpress without any previous knowledge of how to upload files using ftp etc. You will be able to install wordpress with just the click of a button. (This is the host I use for my wordpress blogs: http://www.lowcarbday.com/webhost )

3) Your web host will provide you with information about your nameservers, they will look something like this ns1.yourhost.com and ns2.yourhost.com You must login to you domain registrar and update the nameservers for your domain, so people will actually be taken to your blog when they type in the domain

Good luck

wordpress.com is a VERY simple blog to work with, video and audio are coming in version 3.0.

domains:

godaddy.com is a hard-to-use but very feature-rich,

000domains.com is easier to use but has fewer features than godaddy. had some troubles with 000domains regarding updating credit cards.

I've included a page that tells you how to navigate godaddy for the general case, from there you can find just anout anything. you are looking for a redirect I think, since you will not have an IP address but a URL for your blog.

Go to Godaddy.com and get wordpress hosting, it comes with wordpress installed already. It sets up in one hour and your admin panel will be www.example.com/wp-admin

Call in, they will set it up for you.

Get the economy plan, use discount code 'FUN'

http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/wordpress-hosting.aspx?ci=15005

Go here: wordpress.org

1. Find a free template

2. Download it to your PC

3. Log into your wordpress admin panel

4. Click 'themes', click 'upload theme'

5. Find the file on your PC, click 'upload'

6. Go back to themes and choose 'use this theme'

Good luck!

Go to one of these three big domain registrants: http://hosting.reviewsgurus.com/list/domain-names-13.aspx

search for your domain and pay for it, then you simply own it. it's a yearly payment around $9/year

Hope that helps
