Easy Peasy Linux was designed for Laptops, thus it should run more smoothly on Laptops/Netbooks/NoteBooks. There are others such as Bodhi Linux, Fuduntu, ChromeOS, Sabayon Netbook edition (which is on the main DVD installer). Full fledged distros which would run very smoothly on a laptop would be Sabayon, Fedora, Slackware, Absolute Linux, Debian, Linux Mint Debian Edtion, Chakra Linux, ArchLinux, ArchBang (based on ArchLinux), Crunch Bang (Based on Debian), Gentoo, Funtoo, SorcerLinux, Lunar Linux, SourceMage, &c., just to list a few. If you like the look of EasyPeasy, then simply use the Unity DE or Gnome 3.

Short Answer is:

No.

Long Answer:

The code is completely open and so one is able to view the code for anything malicious. SELinux is also a product of the NSA, however, SELinux is under the GPL and so the code is also available, thus Fedora and Red Hat use SELinux by default. Windows however, is a different matter. The code is completely locked off, and so there is no way that we are able to find out if Windows 7 has a backdoor or not.

Also LPS is not meant for installation, it is to be used as a Live Distro only. If you really want a hardened distro, then you will want to look into Fortress Linux.

Try Lubuntu or Jolicloud. Best two for netbooks or laptops. Though personally I've only tried out EasyPeasy and Lubuntu, and of the two, I really prefer EasyPeasy.

Oz Unity 1.0 Debut, which is based on Ubuntu 10.04, has the same desktop when you log into Lubuntu netbook desktop session.
