I have an image of a tree on a white background and another image of a piece of grassland.

How do I edit such that the background of the tree is changed to "transparent" so that I can put it on top of the green grassland image ?

I have Artweaver, Microsoft Paint...Any way to edit it ?

thanks for any advice

If you are using MS office 2007, follow the steps below:

Paste the photo/picture in your ms word (or power point), then click on the photo, Under picture tools> Format > Recolor (far left side) > Choose Set transperent color (looks like a pen with arrow pointer) point the pen to the photo's background area.... you will see the result then!

Hope this help.

Use the background eraser in photoshop or gimp.
