Hey got some coursework to do need to write a website... Does anyone have some suggestions for some user friendly editor ? This website will have to be high quality website including lot java script and fancy stuff...

I personally like to use Notepad++ for simple things like HTML and CSS. There's not a lot too those languages, and if you are doing it a lot, you really won't need it to suggest what to type. Honestly, menus probably would slow me down more than help me with css- hand coding is much better for these languages.
But Notepad++ is free, has syntax highlighting, keeps indentation right, bla bla. And it makes it pretty clear when you haven't closed a bracket or something. Dreamweaver is a heavy program, and pricey. HTML and CSS really don't have much to know- html has a few tags that you'll start to remember in no time- , , , <body>, <h1>-<h5>, <p>, <div>, <span>, and <br />. Other than that, you really shouldn't have to put of code in HTML, just content, so there isn't anything for the editor to even suggest. And for CSS, you just list off the styles you want applied to each tag. For example, <p> is a paragraph tag, so maybe you want each paragraph to have a background color? So type p{ background-color: red } or whatever, and wala. Not much to know, just have a reference handy when you're starting out (which you would still need even with a fancy app).

if you really want to get to know HTML, javascript and CSS then you will only need Notepad, appropriate textbooks and a deal of time to practice what you are learning..
<br /><br />If you just want to "click and go" or drag and drop images, tables, frames, headings and text, without worrrying about how clunky the code may be, then Dreamweaver is your friend - but please do not expect to be saluted for high quality work if you have not started by learning the fundamentals.

If you have the money and time to learn Dreamweaver is probably the best... but if you just want the standard scripting stuff then Notepad as its free.

Mr. Tacki is right. you do no longer prefer photoshop. I even have been doing picture layout for awhile now and that i take advantage of a unfastened utility observed as GIMP . it works great and that i've got been in a position to do sooo plenty with it.
