At school I go to this club I go to for "Digital Leaders" where they teach us stuff that's out of the curriculum. I love it, especially that I'm really good in computers and stuff... But there's this guy, he's like the nerdiest of nerds... He used fedorra and is use to all the commands and knows what he's doing...and like it's such a huge blow to my ego, because even if I know more than most people there (most people were sampled for testing to see how it works on non-nerds if you'd like) and they have absolutely no ideea, but I feel very like... weak. Because I've been beaten at my forte and things. So here's my question. Can you give me some resources where I can become smart, work with raspberry pi, lunux, fedora, etc and teach me about connexions routers, etc... I have some previous experience, however not enough as it seems...

Also don't tell me to quit because I am genuinely good and will not quit for anything...

Try concentrating on physical computing - attaching an R-Pi through the GPIO pins to control motors, lights, sounds, and to read sensors, drive the R-Pi camera. This all is something very few computers can do, really just the R-Pi and the Arduino (and their clones). Normal laptops and desktops don't have GPIO pins, so they can't do this stuff.

It's a big pleasure when some part of the world does what your program tells it to do, even if it is only blinking an LED. Next step: making a servo move how you want.

You're "really good in computers" and you don't know how to use Google to find information about open-source projects like Fedora and Linux ?

OK, I know there's probably too much information rather than too little, but you just keep adding search terms to narrow it down. For Fedora, try mozilla.org or wherever the source code is. For internet protocols, ietf.org and RFCs, or at least forums where people have read them.

As for the club, how about making friends with this guy and asking his advice ? I know nerds don't always have friends, but everyone has to have colleagues - technology has got so complicated that no-one can possibly do everything by themselves, for one thing it would take too long and besides the goalposts keep moving. When you think you've finally understood C they release C++, etc.

It is not a competition. Do want you enjoy and find interesting. You do not have to prove yourself against anyone else. There is always something new to learn and nobody can possibly know everything about everything.
