From a programmers perspective.. Switching from VB to VB.net Can you give me some tips on making the switch from using Access to SQL server. How are they different.. (not looking for specs more like usage) How did you switch over to using SQL Server? What's the same about using SQL Server as was in Access?

Your connection to the DB will be different but all your SQL statement will work for SQL server. SQL allows for many more connections into your DB then Access ever did. SQL server allow has an 'Upsizing Wizard' that will take you through converting an Access DB to SQL.

most of your sql statements will remain the same, sql server will give you more storage and when the time comes all you have to do is DTS the access file over to sql server and change your connection string.

except being a homestead windows purely product (and for this reason some homestead windows purely features) a DBM is a DBM in case you comprehend effortless sq. then you really may have little difficulty finding out on up MSSQL , no wthe admin might want to be somewhat different yet with homestead windows "element and click" its no longer very confusing, I honestly have quite some adventure with MYSQL and purely in the near previous began utilising MSSQL or perhaps as convinced there are some ameliorations, it changed into no longer that confusing to %. up. see you later as you've a sturdy starting up position in database(s) and sq. going from one to the different is like learning tochronic a guide even as all you've adventure in is an automated, no longer some thing a sensible college grad can not %. up ........ sturdy success dougc
