Guessing you are using Apache HTTP Server for this. If using another web server application, please let us know.

Couple things to check:

- Is the httpd running? Most Linux systems include the web server but don't start it by default.

- Check the httpd.conf file to ensure the virtual root folder is configured with the path that you expect. Make sure the system is set to respond to request from your network as well (couldn't be sure that you were using the server's browser or another network client to connect to view).

- Check the file permissions that you placed in the www root folder. Hopefully you aren't running the httpd daemon as root so make sure what ever account is running the process has at least read access to the files.

- Check the web server logs. They may reveal a configuration problem.

Lastly, ignore Gabe N. The issue is likely with the web server software (likely Apache HTTP Server) and probably runs on multiple operating system platforms. Moving to MS Windows wouldn't solve anything.

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer. I'm just a poor orphan who doesn't even know when I can eat.
