Hi, Im trying to change the image on my site to a different logo. Someone else built the website for me and now i have no idea how to change anything. My first step is to change the logo to something and I have no idea how to do it . I was advised to go to templates/images folder and do it there. Well i went there ( i believe ) and i uploaded to new image and it is not showing up . It is still showing the old logo. CAn someone tell me how to do this or advise me on where I can find some tutorials or help on how to use php Mysql . Thanks

Hi

Thats coz u haven't refreshed your website's cache. (I guess it's a forum like phpbb?) So, go to the Administration Control Panel of ur forum and refresh the cache or 'Purge the cache' or something. This will solve ur problem.

I prefer w3schools tutorials: http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp

All the best!

Easiest way to do it without needing to know php or mysql is to right click on the current/old logo and see what the file name is (i.e. logo.jpg) Then rename your new logo to the exact same name. Then simply go to the folder where the old file is located and overwrite it. Then just make sure you hit refresh on the page to make it download the new image as it might have the old image store in your cache.

Seems like this is more a question of how to use and configure the installed system. Maybe you can check the control panel or admin area of the website and see what system it says it is. That will go a long way toward figuring out what must be done.

did you make sure you went into the correct template, and if so did you make sure it was the same name as the old one and the same file type (you will need to delete the old one)

ie head, jpg wont show up if the page is looking for header.jpg or head .png

you're actually not likely to get extreme high quality and all of the useful aspects you prefer for unfastened. in simple terms ain't going to happen. possibly there may well be some internet site that helps non-advertisement websites like yours, yet they are going to be troublesome to locate. the area has to help the field, the working device, the information superhighway server app (Apache, maximum probable), plus Hypertext Preprocessor and Perl a minimum of, plus the database. Plus you prefer force area and ftp get entry to? solid luck.

save the logo. (keeping filename)

edit it (keeping the same size).

upload it and replace it with the origanal logo. (usally in /images)
