Question:
dreamweaver frames problem?
2008-03-20 08:10:13 UTC
i am using macromedia dreamweaver professional 8

i have created a frames based site, and have created a navigation menu in flash and used actionscripts to programme is to open certain pages when the user releases the button clicked.

the problem i am having is that the site kind of works, but the button opens the pages in a new browser window which isn't what it is supposed to do. i have tried just inserting the flash, which this problem occurring. then it was suggested that i put it in as a plugin, to which the same problem occurred.

please can someone tell me how to get the buttons to open in the frame not in a new window.

Thank you!!!

Two things are wrong here.. you need to 'name your frames', and in the nav bar have it open in the right named frame.

When you are on your main framed page there is a property for each frame that let's you name it.. once that is done go back and edit your nav bar and on each link there is a pull down option to what frame you want.

I am not sure exactly what you are getting at by the extra details..

The frame name is different than the file name... When you set up your frames initially they had room for a name.. this usually is something like 'top', 'middle', 'nav'.. but you had to do this yourself.
